COTES DU RHONE RED

Grape Variety: 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah 5% Mourvedre

Age of the vines: For Syrah and Mourvedre, 30 years average age.
For Grenache, from 40 to 100 years old.

Geographic situation: Bordering the area of Chateauneuf du Pape’s appellation, between the communes of Orange and Chateauneuf du Pape. The Soil in alluvial terraces is composed of galets mixed with sandy red clay.

Methods of Vinification: De-stemming of the grapes and maceration for a period of 20 days minimum.

Aged in French oak barrels for about a year.

Tasting: Served at 16 to 18°C

Appearance: A deep red colour of ruby or ripe cherry.

Nose: Bouquet of ripe red fruits and bilberries.

Palate: Good tannic structure. The nose of ripe fruits is confirmed on the palate and develops to some hints of raspberries and blackcurrant. A well balanced and harmonious wine which displays a great length.

Peak: 2 to 7 years.
